COLIN TAYLOR THE LOCAL LIB DEM CHOICE FOR CHAPELTOWN, ECCLESFIELD AND PARSON CROSS12.00.00am GMT Wed 25th Mar 2009
Following the news that well respected local Lib Dem Councillor for East Ecclesfield Ward has had to retire, local Lib Dems have selected local community campaigner, Colin Taylor, as their candidate for the by-election on Thursday April 30th. Colin Taylor has lived locally in Chapeltown for almost 2O years. He is married to Frances and they have four grown up children. Colin said: - "I have lived in this area for many years. My wife and I have raised our family here. It is my home and I care passionately about it's future. The Lib Dems have a strong track record of fighting for this area. I want to carry on that fight." Colin has been part of the Lib Dem team on Ecclesfield Parish Council since 2OO7. If elected, he will work hard to take the fight for East Ecclesfield to the Town Hall. Colin is an active community campaigner. He has been involved with the Chapeltown Baths for many years - working on the campaign to save them in 1995. Colin has also raised over £2000 in the past for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice and Shelter. The East Ecclesfield Ward has been a key election battleground between the Lib Dems and Labour in the past. At the last local elections in May 2008 the Lib Dems won by 692 votes over Labour.
