Councillor Joe Taylor hard at work in Hillsborough

A new councillor elected in the recent Sheffield City Council local elections has wasted no time in getting to work for his new constituents. Councillor Joe Taylor was hard at work in Hillsborough Ward campaigning for timings on street lights to be fixed.

Lights on three streets in Hillsborough alone were found to have lights that were wasting energy by remaining on during daytime.

"Local people have told us that there is a problem with street lights staying on during the day. We have pledged to run a green and efficient Council so wasting energy like this is obviously unacceptable!"

Joe was also working hard over the weekend on pushing the Council to take action on more than a dozen pieces of graffiti, litter and vandalism that were reported to him during the local election campaign.

"It's important that people know that when the campaign stops the hard work doesn't," said Joe.
